Upcoming Museum Tours

Join us for a special tour of the Museum’s Featured Gallery Exhibition.

A Seat at the Table: Chinese Immigration and British Columbia is an award-winning exhibition that explores historical and contemporary stories of Chinese Canadians in BC and their struggles for belonging.
One of the most significant museum projects on Chinese Canadian history and culture in Canada to date, it addresses themes of belonging, racism, agency, resilience and reparation as important facets of the complex picture of Chinese migrants and their descendants in Cumberland and British Columbia.

*Special Heritage Week Tour In Memory of John Leung.

Leung’s Grocery is remembered fondly by many of Cumberland’s former and current residents. For this tour, we will be looking at the experience of Chinese Canadian merchants through the words of John Leung (1932-2024), the manager turned owner of Leung’s grocery in Cumberland.

In an effort to continue his legacy, we will be sharing what we have learned from John about the Chinese Canadian experience in Cumberland and how we can ensure his words resonate through time.
