Writing Workshop – Intermediate

Interactive Writing Workshop

Join Kim Bannerman for an evening of writing, where you can enjoy a quiet, non-judgemental, and supportive space to fully immerse yourself in the craft of writing.

Each session will begin with a short discussion, then participants will work on their own projects in a friendly and creative environment.

Throughout this 6-week workshop, we will pause to reflect on our projects, discuss challenges, and gather in small groups to critique work, establishing an invaluable routine for future writing journeys.

Kim Bannerman

Fascinated by fairytales and myths, my murder mystery novels are inspired by the weird parts of British Columbia’s history. Let’s mash up the beautiful and the bizarre. I suppose you could say, I write ‘Cascadia Gothic’.

My work has appeared in anthologies like She’s Shameless from Tightrope Books (Toronto), Teen Angst Poetry from St. Martin’s Press (New York), Wolf-Girls from Hic Dragones Press (Manchester UK), and When Birds Are Near from Cornell University Press (Ithaca NY). My first novel was a modern fairy tale entitled The Tattooed Wolf, and in 2008, I received a Canada Council Grant to complete my murder mystery novel, Bucket of Blood.

Currently, I’m working on the Circus Salmagundi Mysteries series, which begins with Truly the Devil’s Work. In addition to learning about life in the Pacific Northwest during the 1920s, this project demands that I delve into circus history, which is frankly awesome.
